Our Scooter Giveaway Story

This summer Scooter Country Canada had a successful 2018 and that success prompted us to move to a new office in London, Ontario. What’s success without celebration? We wanted to celebrate with our customers and that’s when we decided to do a giveaway!

Once we got the approval, we sat down with the team to decide the brand of scooter to offer. We were particular about giving something of value to our customers and not just offer something for the sake of it. After a lot of thought and careful consideration, we decided on offering the INVACARE COLIBRI as the prize.

The Invacare Colibri is a stylish, simple and colourful micro-light scooter, designed for those who enjoy total independence. The prize and duration were decided and we were set to announce the campaign! The reason we decided to run a 4-week campaign is because we wanted to reach as many people as possible so that people who were in need of a scooter were aware of the opportunity and able to participate in it.

The contest launched on August 3rd with an announcement post on Facebook. One week into our campaign, we realized that we weren’t reaching the French speaking population, so we created a French ad and targeted Quebec and other places where most French speaking people live. We didn’t want to leave ANY Canadians out of our contest!

We were happy with the response we got and we were happy that we reached out to them. We invested a lot of time and resources into this campaign to ensure that we reached as many people as possible. Our intention was to create awareness of the giveaway among people in need, which we did exceptionally well.

The contest winner was picked by random draw and we reached out to the winner, Elizabeth. We knew there could be only one BIG winner in the contest but we wanted all our customers to get something, so we offered 10% OFF on all scooters for anyone who participated!

The day came to deliver the scooter to our winner and to say our team was excited would be the understatement of the year! It ended up being a pretty rainy day but once we arrived at Elizabeth’s, it felt like the sun was shining over all of us. The best part of our jobs is the feeling that we are helping people and that feeling couldn’t have been more clear when we met Elizabeth.

We decide to take a road trip to personally deliver the Scooter to our Contest Winner and we’re so glad we took the time to do it!

We couldn’t have asked for a better response from our customers and thanks to our support staff, web development and marketing team for making this a grand success. As well, this contest could not have been a success without our customers! We are so thankful to everyone who liked, shared, commented, and participated in the contest in any way. Finally, a huge CONGRATS to Elizabeth for winning a brand new scooter!
